@FutureBEV - supporting four new patents

Working with BMW, Custom Interconnect Limited, Lyra Electronics and the University of Warwick, the Catapult supported concept design, prototyping, testing and validation for SiC-based power electronics for future electric vehicles. The project laid the foundations for 800 V inverter technology, filed four new patents and created or safeguarded 100 jobs.

ESCAPE - establishing an end-to-end UK SiC supply chain

In a £20 million programme led by McLaren Applied, the Catapult led the modelling, characterisation, integration and validation of SiC power switches and contributed device and module-packaging expertise. The programme helped establish an end-to-end UK SiC supply chain and influenced subsequent investment, including $177 million in UK SiC manufacturing by Vishay and $3 million in advanced power-module manufacturing by Microchip.

COMPASS - building a first-of-its-kind demonstrator

Working with Saab and Microchip, the Catapult helped develop a compact, energy-efficient phased-array demonstrator for aerospace and satellite communications. The first-of-its-kind demonstrator integrated multiple transceivers, amplifiers and filters into a compact package and achieved reliable performance at frequencies above 18 GHz.
